AlexSmart
Alex has a background in both contemporary and classical music (representing NZ in the NZ secondary schools orchestra at age 14-16), playing ‘cello, piano, keyboards, bass guitar and singing. She also lead the Tauranga Symphonia section of the cellos for 2006.
Alex has an appealing and remarkable personal voice and writes rock/pop songs that reflect much of what goes on in her life. Recording of the track 'Real' has been funded by NZ on Air and produced by Greg Havers (Manic Street Preachers fame). Her second single ‘Talk’ was chosen out of 3500 songs as runner-up in the internationally acclaimed UK song writers competition.

NZ recording the Feelers album in September 2003
• Recording and production of debut album with producer Peter Fallon (BMG, EMI from the UK)

• Picked by Tauranga City to play the big New Years Eve gig at The Mount December 2003
• On the NZ on Air Indie Hit Disc number 26 2004
• Featured artist in the April/May edition of NZ musician magazine
• Runner-up in the 2004 UK Song writers competition
• Release of Alex’s first music video for the single “Real” November 04
